Kane County Cougars Game


Every year our band students are invited to perform the Star Spangled Banner at a Kane County Cougars baseball game. This is a fun, family event. The students play in front of thousands of fans and after the performance, go back in the stands and sit with their families to watch great minor league baseball. Music, food, families, fireworks, and baseball. What a great combination!

Band For Today Honor Band


The Band For Today Honor Band is made up of intermediate and advanced students who are nominated by their teacher. The Honor Band is a full day of sectional rehearsals and ensemble rehearsals, culminating in an afternoon performance. Students are selected based upon attendance, attitude, ability and citizenship. Every March, Band For Today hosts a solo contest for students. This contest involves students playing a solo before a judge. The students are rated on pitch, rhythm, technique, and presentation. First, second, and third places receive either a gold, silver or bronze medal and perfect scores with the solo memorized receive an engraved trophy.
