Chicago Wolves Game – Saturday, January 21


All 2nd year and above band students are invited to play at a Chicago Wolves game! We will be playing a set of music before a Chicago Wolves hockey game at the Allstate Arena! With over 10,000 fans attending these games along with indoor fireworks and laser show, this will be an exciting evening!

School Concerts


Students perform at two major concerts every year. Their first concert is in December and features a variety of music selections from the students repertoire. This is also the first concert for the beginning band students. It is amazing to see what students accomplish in just a few short months!

Kane County Cougars Game


Every year our band students are invited to perform the Star Spangled Banner at a Kane County Cougars baseball game. This is a fun, family event. The students play in front of thousands of fans and after the performance, go back in the stands and sit with their families to watch great minor league baseball. Music, food, families, fireworks, and baseball. What a great combination!

Band For Today Honor Band – April 20 & 21


The Band For Today Honor Band is made up of intermediate and advanced students who are nominated by their teacher. The Honor Band is a full day of sectional rehearsals and ensemble rehearsals, culminating in an afternoon performance. Students are selected based upon attendance, attitude, ability and citizenship. Band For Today Solo Contest – Saturday, February 25

Every year, Band For Today hosts a solo contest for students. This contest involves students playing a solo before a judge. The students are rated on pitch, rhythm, technique, and presentation. First, second, and third places receive either a gold, silver or bronze medal and perfect scores with the solo memorized receive an engraved trophy.
